Have you built an amazing business, but you’re still working as you have always done?
Let me explain as I have been guilty of this myself!
You spend time in the detail of your business, you know what you need and you implement the foundational systems to simply do what you need to do. You’ve built confidence as a CEO to really go for your next goal. Everything feels easy, streamlined and on track. You’re proud of yourself and feel accomplished for taking the time to really create something that will support you.
But after that initial rush of accomplishment and confidence, you slip back into old working patterns and styles, nothing has really changed on the day to day, and even some of the systems you spent time implementing to support your next level are gathering dust. The plans for your business start to feel out of reach again and you’re starting to get frustrated and overwhelmed.
How can you break that cycle? Comfort zones and default settings have a habit of shouting loudly sometimes!
Take Intentional Action Quickly
This is really key. In order to build new ways of working we need to act quickly when we implement something new. You’re changing your business for a reason, and that change will require you to change too. Taking action to put your new systems through their paces will build confidence. What can you do today to move you one step closer to your goal? And do that every day until you get there.
Patience Is Needed!
Whilst acting quickly is really important, change won’t happen overnight. You need to consistently build new habits but work in a new way. Soon that will become your new normal, but it can be easy to slip back into old habits when soon doesn’t come soon enough.
To keep on track, the clarity of your vision is really important. You need to know exactly why you’re doing what you’re doing and the steps it’s going to take to get you there. Without that clarity, your plan won’t be strong enough to really make lasting change.
Work On Your Mindset
Building confidence in your business is more than just the mechanics of how your business actually works. Yes, that can give you a huge amount of confidence knowing you can take it where you want to go, but you need to nurture the mindset to take you there too.
Personal development can often fall by the wayside when you run your own business, but it is so important to keep working on yourself. This can be reading books on specific topics, listening to podcasts, or attending webinars and conferences. Absorbing knowledge you’re interested in is so important.
Find Your People
No, for once this isn’t your clients! This about the people that support you, light you up, inspire you and give you a real sense of positive energy. Look for people who you admire and connect with them, seek out people in your industry who have the same values as you, who are where you want to be. How can you support them too?
